SASSAFRAS MOUNTAIN-Hiking through the seasons-22 November 2003-Once again Scott was our guide down the Mountains. We started at the parking area of Table Rock State Park and took a van to the top of Sassafras Mountain; the highest point in South Carolina, 3560'. From the top of the mountain we could see into North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Weather was perfect. We descended Sassafras, to Pinnacle Mountain, following the trail down to Bald Rock where the view was unbelievably wonderful, but I forgot the extra rolls of film, so I'll have to go back up there another time and get more pictures. The scenery kept changing: thick woods, open hillsides, huge boulders, creeks, and waterfalls. If you take this hike you can definitely see the hand of God working his mastery.
