A bit about me:
I started working with computers when my sons started school in 1990; working with the old TRS -80's, Apple Computers, and IBM's running DOS programs. The more I worked with the computers, the more I found this was something that was fun and interesting to me. Eventually, the computer teachers allowed me to take over the instructions of their classes, too.
When the schools changed to Macintosh Computers, I learned to operate both Mac and DOS formats; then started learning Window 3.1; Windows 95, 98 and finally XP. I also had the opportunity to learn how to trouble shoot and upgrade the computer hardware while working in an Elementary school with over 1000 students.
In 1996 I had the opportunity to help develop the plans for a new school. My part was to design a school computer lab, server room, media center, and network. In 1998 I was hired to run the School’s Technology/Telecommunications systems.
Some of my responsibilities included:
I moved to Greenville in June of 2002 with my husband and sons because of my husand's work. After we settled in to upstate of South Carolina I decided to try teaching people on my own.
While teaching in the schools I found a lot of other people, especially women, who wanted to learn to use their computers, but didn’t want to leave home for the whole day to attend classes. Trying to learn from their children or spouses didn’t work because it usually amounted to, “Here, just click..click…click…like that”…leaving entirely too many questions. So, I would help them learn to get what they needed out of their computers and feel comfortable enough with it to know they wouldn’t cause damage by experimenting. << This is what I am offering you now with Computer M.E. (Made Easy).
